PVR Pictures is a subsidiary of PVR Limited with interests in production and distribution of films. PVR's philosophy for producing & distributing films is to nurture fresh talent, bring forth great ideas, cultivate newer concepts and set benchmarks in releasing quality films.
The Distribution wing of PVR Pictures has been making its mark in that arena with about more than 20 films released in the last year including films like Taare Zameen Par, Mithya, Mere Baap Pehle Aap (releasing on June 13th) and acclaimed foreign titles like Death at a Funeral, Next, Paris Je' Taime, Dan in Real Life etc.
With its entry into production last year, PVR has completed its presence in all three areas of movies i.e. Production, Distribution and Exhibition. Contract is the third film from the production house which has co-produced Taare Zameen Par and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.
Producer's note
Contract is a testimony to our belief about producing quality cinema and promoting new talent. A hard hitting gritty film, which is high on entertainment value and deals with a very contemporary issue.
Contract also takes our association with Ram Gopal Varma to newer heights. With this venture, the director pitches yet another high note on his chronicles of crime. The film is crisp, realistic and very well shot and thus depicts the insights of crime & mafia with a lot of honesty. Coming from the man, who has perfected the subject was a good enough factor for us to co-produce the movie. The script was gripping and it was in able hands. Additionally the movie met all the standards that PVR has set when it comes to producing or distributing films. Contract we believe will be loved and appreciated by the audience. Apart from the script, it has great performances and a solid technical team behind it.
After Taare Zameen Par and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Contract is very likely to be a film from PVR that will remain with the audience for a long time. A film about underworld's advances into terrorism, we believe, will thoroughly entertain you.
